The Amazing Rosie Kelly

The Memphis Calligraphy Guild just hosted two workshops with calligrapher and book artist Rosie Kelly. Here are a few pages from HER books, which are too beautiful to not post.

New Work

Here are new photos from my most recent journal. The cover is marbled paper that I made several years ago. I bound the book with a coptic stitch. The inside pages are Arches text wove. I used Stampin' Up dye inks with plain erasers and stamps, then I blended the colors with a wet paint brush. All the text are selections from poems by my new favorite, e. e. cummings. The lettering is all dome with parallel pens filled with Twinkling H2O watercolors. You can see some of the sparkles in a few of the close up photos.
